Policy for the admission of pupils beyond Ballot Years at Theresa Nuzzo School – Marsa

Theresa Nuzzo school admits pupils from Kinder 1 to Grade 6 only. Kinder 1, Kinder 2 and Grade 1 pupils are admitted by means of the ballot process which is organised by the Secretariat for Catholic Education and following the MUT agreement. As for the other years, namely Grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, if a vacancy arises, the school can admit pupils to fill the vacant places.

The method of admission in these years is as follows:

  1. During the scholastic year, the school receives letters of intent from parents who would like their child to be admitted to our school should a vacancy arise.
  2. Some parents also come directly to the school to enroll their child.
  3. All parents are asked to send/give the basic information of the child, that is:

a. Name and Surname of the child to be enrolled,

b. Date of birth,

c. Grade where child is to be enrolled,

d. Contact details of the parents/guardians.

4. Such information is kept and in case of a vacancy we follow the criteria below and give priority accordingly:

a. Siblings

b. Children of school employees

c. Children from children’s homes

d. Grave humanitarian cases

e. Other applicants

The other applicants are listed according to the date received.

The system we follow is a transparent one and can be traced accordingly.
