Preparing for Confession

Both Grade 4 teachers have asked me over to their classrooms in order to help their pupils prepare well for the sacrament of reconciliation.

A short penitential service was organised whereby the parable of the Lost Sheep was read out to the pupils. Afterwards they were given a small pebble each, representing the weight of our sins. After reflecting upon the wrongs done, the pupils were asked to release the pebble into a jar of water. The jar represents Jesus, and the water His Mercy. Jesus is so full of Mercy that He is always ready to forgive our sins. The pebble sinks to the bottom representing our sins being forgiven forever by Jesus.
