Sicily April 2018

On Tuesday 3rd April, the PTA organised a day trip to Sicily. We met at the airport at 4am. We left Malta at 5:50am and arrived in Catania at 6:30am.

Our first stop was for breakfast and afterwards we headed for Mount Etna.

After Mount Etna we were taken to Park Tematico Sicilia in miniatura where a guide explained about Sicily’s landmarks. At the end of this tour we entered a “castle” where we could watch a very interesting documentary about the volcano Etna. After this we had lunch at their restaurant which consisted of a three-course meal and afterwards, honey tasting.

Zaffarena was our next stop where we took the trenino to the historical city centre. On the train we were also given information about the important buildings in this city.

Our last excursion for the day was Tormina. We were left to walk around and admire its streets, shops and views.

All good things come to an end! we soon found ourselves at the airport in order to come back to Malta. It was a great day. The weather was quite favourable…not cold…not hot but just right! I hope all those who have come with us have enjoyed it and are looking forward to something similar in the future!
